Treat outside floodwater cautiously

Avoid direct contact with water when its source or contamination level is uncertain. Keep children and pets out of affected areas, and do not enter standing water where electrical hazards may be present.

Nampa flooding context

The City of Nampa says localized ponding can occur during rainstorms or rapid snowmelt, with extra caution warranted in mapped areas around Indian Creek and Mason Creek. Property-level flooding can also come from site drainage, blocked drains and water entering low points.

From removal to drying

After safety issues are addressed, cleanup may include water extraction, removal of unsalvageable porous materials, cleaning as appropriate and structural drying. The exact sequence depends on where the water traveled and what it contacted.

Local source note: Local flooding context on this page is based on the City of Nampa's official Flooding FAQs and its February 19, 2026 Indian Creek floodplain update.
