Stop the machine and water source
Turn off the appliance and shut off the appropriate water valves when it is safe to do so. Avoid handling electrical plugs or outlets while standing in water.
Inspect adjoining materials
Water may move behind the appliance, under baseboards, into wall cavities or beneath floating flooring. Areas that feel dry on top can still have moisture underneath.
Extraction and drying
After the appliance or plumbing issue is addressed, restoration may include removing standing water, checking moisture and drying affected assemblies.
